GAME OF THRONES INSPIRED WEDDING INVITATION BY PAPERMOON COLLECTIVE

I, along with many others, have become a huge Game of Thrones fan.

I recently began searching trends in the themed wedding invitation business.

Needless to say, there is a huge gap in that market.

While there are some international stationers that make elegant invitations according to a client’s chosen theme, I feel that you either find really exquisite and elegant themed invitations, or a very Renaissance inspired invitation.

My goal – to make a rustic and bold wedding invitation that is inspired by the Dothraki, tying in elements inspired by Daenerys.

My inspiration – making a non-conventional invitation using cost effective materials, design elements from the series, and making sure it would be considered fit for a union in Pentos.

It was at my supplier that I had found and fallen in love with paper that reminded me so much of Daenerys’ dragons.

I decided to create a mock up of the invitation to get an idea of what I was getting myself in to.

The invite is c6 in size, printed on Lana cotton paper and embellished with green gems.

A map of Westeros was printed on handmade blue paper and sewn together with the outer cover (Sea Green Scalloped Lokta Paper with Gold foil – Embossed) and trimmed with copper satin ribbon.

Enclosed with suede cord and inserted in a copper envelope.

Finally, after making subtle adjustments, adding a few extra touches and heading off to a location to shoot the final mock up: Photos courtesy of The Photographer Kofi
