If you find yourself at this post, that means you are willing and ready to take a dive into what makes the cut for wedding trends of 2023/2024.
You want ideas, inspiration – a guide, if you will.

I have created a simple and visual breakdown of all you need to know, below.
From tablescapes to signage, wedding cakes to dresses and more!

This year, it is all about the PARTY!  If the past two years have taught us anything, is that you have to make the most of your time and resources – and be true to yourself.  I feel, as individuals and as couples, you owe it to yourself to stand out from the crowd and explore your own unique tastes.

Plenty of what you see in new wedding trends are correlated to the inspiring interior design trends of the season. Your colours of the year and interior design trends influence a lot of wedding styles this year.

AND NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF…

CEREMONIES CAN BE LESS BORING! YAY!

This year we see a shift of more secular & cultural orientated ceremonies.  The flow of such weddings could be more in line with ritual based flows, vows, supporting from family and friends, and curated cultural and legal bits to complete the ceremony. Having your ceremony officiated by a friend is an idea, ceremonies are now shorter, too.

Ideas include spiritual moments, sand unity, candle unity, tying of the knot, washing of the feet, take a shot, plant a tree or even a unity sandwich!

LESS IS MORE.

We are minimizing stress this year, and bringing you light, love & zen. These are simple methods of bringing together your couple style, surrounding yourself with good food, music and spirit.  Colour schemes are simple, such as monochromatic, all-white affairs, or simple pastel touches.

WAITING FOR A PEARL LIKE YOU

You can see pearls coming into play, everywhere. From veils, to cakes to décor to stationery.  They are the new bling on the block.

RUST IN TIME

There are quite a few colour schemes and palettes making waves this year, one in particular that I would like to highlight is Rust.  This goes hand in hand with the retro/70’s mid century wedding colour theme, but can also be used in any wedding décor, whether it be modern/vintage inspired. Rust is a warm colour which can be paired with brighter colours, neutral styles or with cool tones as it is a complimentary hue.

LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU!

We are about experiences this year, people! We see more live entertainment, live wedding painting, games, food trucks and performers hit the scene. Enough to keep your guests engaged and entertained throughout the day’s events.

INTIMATE CEREMONIES

Blending new with nature, keeping your circle of guests tight and your wedding style comfortable.  Guests can easily access your ceremony by digital means (like streaming your ceremony live), and you can incorporate custom wedding rituals into your ceremony to make it more unique.  Smaller ceremonies mean you do not have to fork out a ton on wedding catering, therefore your catering can be more picnic-styled, or make use of food truck vendors or host a reception at your favourite restaurant.

Smaller guest lists, vips, backyard weddings with more of a party and cozy feel.

I’LL GO WHEREVER YOU MAY GO

Destination weddings become more of a choice for those who would rather want to elope or tie the knot on a unique location in the world.  Guests are more than welcome to join, but this is also a wonderful chance at a grand elopement as there are now many ways of sharing your wedding ceremony – plus, you will already be on your honeymoon! Bonus.

Beach weddings are popular, such as Bali, Zanzibar or Mauritius. However, jetting off to Italy and Paris for the Mediterranean vibe is also a cool idea!

ECO-WEDDY

We are all about limiting the amount of unnecessaries this year, and along with it, would be excessive use of non-renewable or recyclable items in weddings.  This option is for the bride and groom who want an Eco-friendly appeal to their ceremony.  Whether it be the use of eco-friendly papers in printed goods and invitations, or seeds for confetti, outdoor ceremonies and no plastic use, there are quite a few ways to bring this vibe into your special day.

Use reclaimed wood for decoration, petals or seeds for confetti, glass instead of plastic.

…on that note, TO THE OUTDOORS!

Outdoor wedding ceremonies hit big this season.  If you pick the right venue/destination, and the right season, anything is doable with the right vendors and looks.  You can host both ceremony and reception outdoors and style it the way you please. Anything goes with this look! In this wedding style, you will also see plenty of floral displays and creative props.

Use your very own back yard, outdoor venue or farm at your disposal.

STATIONERY: E-VITES, DIGITAL GOODS, WEDDING WEBSITES

Digital keeps going
The easiest and most cost effective way for sending out save the dates and wedding invitations remains in the form of digital invitations or wedding websites.

WEDDING KEEPSAKES FOR THE VIPS
We always remember the generations who prefer paper invitations, especially for Grandparents

You can ask your stationer for a few amount of invitations to be printed for those VIPS in your family.

Alternatively, what can be done with these invites post ceremony is:

Framing invitations with your wedding photo, preserving your wedding invitations with your bouquet.

SIMPLE AND CLEAN STATIONERY DESIGNS

Monochromatic, vintage serifs, clean aesthetic and arch styled stationery remains popular this year, with maybe a few exceptions of pops of colour, different shades of paper colours with more sleek print designs.

Remember to hire easels or display grids for your seating plan, welcome sign and signage by your decor service provider !
